Doctor Damien Doute
Doctor Damien Doute contacted me to shoot some shots for his website and online footprint in general. He wanted some headshots done in the studio with your average plain background. He also wanted shots of him in an office and/or hospital setting. This is much easier said then done when you don't personally have access to them. Dr. Doute is in between offices at the moment and building a private practice. So what's a photographer to do? iStockphoto is a great resource for a great many things. You can get music for video, illustrations, and tons of photographs. A nice feature about iStock is that you are not going to get sued, most likely, because iStock requires model and property releases when they're required. So that's what we did.
The backplate is what we call the base image of a composite photograph. A composite is simply two or more images put together. They can be fairly simple or incredibly complex. The price, of course, varies. A stock image is about $50 from iStock. So we used three different backplates to produce what you see in the images in this post.
Headshots are my thing but I'm a portrait photographer. That's means images with people in them. So it's not necessarily the studio, it's not just outdoors in front of some evergreens, it means I can do shots of people anywhere I can get a subject and a camera together with good light. I'd love to help you with your professional headshot needs. But I'd also love to do editorial style things as well.
