I'm frequently asked to shoot lifestyle - editorial photography on headshot sessions. Businesses and individuals alike. Wigensky Altidor is a holistic fitness trainer based in Alpharetta, Georgia. He's hard working, knowledgeable, and takes his client's health seriously. Wigensky works out of a gym in Alpharetta for the most part. We met there early one morning and did a few different set ups. With Wigensky the set ups were fairly easy although working around walls of mirrors can be tricky. Here's the images that made the cut. I styled them to make them look more like advertisements then straight up editorial shots.
My specialty is photographing people. I tend to do more headshots then anything but that is because corporations often hire me to shoot their entire sales force. But I also love environmental portraits where you mix ambient light with a little strobe light and present the subject in the context of what they do. That is easier for some professions then it is for others. Of course with Wigensky Altidor it was as easy as watching him workout more or less.
Headshots, editorial, lifestyle shots... It's all more important than ever in the age of the internet. You need to be blogging, you need to be on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Instagram doing different things for different reasons. Professional photography is going to make you stand out and look your best.
Headshot sessions are an affordable necessity these days. Give me a call and set up a session. I work out of a residential studio in Lawrenceville, Georgia which is a suburb of Atlanta. But I travel and can achieve the same results on location as I do in the studio. Depending on the type of shots you want on location there might be a location fee. Generally if I have to bring a background and consequently need to light that background I charge a location fee. I tend to prefer environmental shots myself because it puts the subject in a context. When you are in business you must have a context that is part of what you do. A context that comes to people's minds when they think of a particular topic or need they might have. When people think of headshot photography, I want them to think of Steve Glass. I hope you'll think of me for you next set of headshots. While we're at it we can do some editorial and lifestyle photography as well.
