Atlanta Headshot Pricing Business and Acting Headshots

My headshot pricing is competitive for the top working photographers in the Atlanta market. I strive for quality.

Headshot Prices for Studio

LinkedIn Session - $195

This is very simple and usually only takes 20 minutes but can be longer. Most people need 50 to 100 hundred takes. We are going for one great expression. You can bring multiple outfits to choose from but we shoot just one outfit. This session includes one retouched image.

ERAS - Medical Residency Headshot for ERAS application

ERAS & SF Match - $195

Headshot For Electronic Residency Application System for Medical Residency. This is just the LinkedIn session adjusted for the specific requirements for the ERAS system. The pricing includes one retouched image. Very simple session with a quick turn-a-round for your medical residency application. The headshot is formatted to the ERAS specifications and ready for uploading.

Additional Retouches for - $75

Should you want additional takes, please choose in very close proximity to the session. Preferably at the time of the initial order. I do archive most sessions. It is rare someone requests after the fact. So rare that I do not guarantee I’ll have your takes even 6 months after the fact. While I do double back my deliverables I do not with extra takes.

Add Outdoor Session To Studio Session - $100

Acting Session - $300

Usually around 90 minutes. Includes 5 lightly retouched images and a number of developed images.

Feel free to: character dress, change hair styles, and shave mid session. I provide you with downloadable galleries. This gives you plenty of images to work with. As I stay in touch with actors who get work I'm amazed that it's usually the ones who wore a black t-shirt or some other simple top for all their headshots, who get work in Atlanta. An acting session is about you meeting the viewers gaze without a hint of being self conscious. Unless you’re experienced, the outfit changes can be a distraction. Nail your main headshot first. Google up your favorite actors on IMDb. Do a deep dive on their headshots, NOT red carpet shots, but proper headshots that got them where they are. Practice meeting your own gaze in the mirror. Exude confidence yet with approachability. Have a warm closed mouth look, a medium smile, and a big smile. Then work on character outfits. Next door neighbor, geek, tough person, business person etc…

It bears repeating that the retouching is light on acting headshots. You can pay for more extensive retouching if you like. But agencies want to see you in a natural way. Obviously retouched images are frowned on by casting directors. Make-up is a good idea for women.

Branding Photography Projects - Starting at $500

A project is something atypical that doesn't fall into a simple category. It's usually a combination of a headshot session in my studio along with a location or environmental portrait that contextualizes what you do. Some examples would be a fitness instructor in the gym, a business person with a city view behind them. Often it's a matter of compositing images. We might shoot you in the studio then shoot a background image and put the two together in Photoshop. Compositing takes careful planning. The pricing depends on the complexity.

Professional Headshots at your location

I shoot about 40 to 50 of these jobs each year. The final cost depends on the number of employees and the type of shots you want. I charge a minimum to cover my time and the cost associated with setting up a studio at your location. That is $350. The cost per headshot starts at $110.

When on site my process is the same as my studio. I shoot tethered to a laptop or computer so we can see your shots come in as we shoot. I coach you into good posture and expression. Each trip from your mark in front of the camera to the screen to examine our work builds confidence and know how. When we’re confident we have enough choices we move on to the next person.

The biggest difference between location and studio is time. I do well to get 5 minutes of time for a subject’s headshot on site. Not uncommon for the subject I’m working with to be called away mid shoot. My goal on site is to work quickly but maintain high quality. I want to deliver the highest quality headshot with the least interruption to your work day. In the studio a single headshot is usually just a 20 to 30 minute process with 50 - 100 takes on average.
