Joseph Geierman For Mayor Of Doraville

Joseph Geierman cares about Doraville! I'm on the very periphery and I'm only a photographer Joseph hires but I know this. He's a very successful lawyer and it's not because he needs the position. He wants to make Doraville better. If you want to make Doraville better you should vote for him.

The brief was to create a headshot and an environmental portrait of these three gentlemen. For the environmental shot we had the lobby of their office location to work with. We did have a decent window view but rightly so the client wanted something that put them in an office environment and by positioning them we found some depth with a view through the lobby into a hallway.

ET Environmental View Through The Window

The view through the window shot requires a nice view! Easier said than done though. ET Enviromental is on the lobby floor of the Monarch Building in Buckhead. So the CEO asked the building manager to utilize an empty office on a high floor. We ended up in a corner office on the 22nd or 23rd floor. We had our choice of three views. The ET crew was being shuttled over from their hotel in groups of 4 and 5. So we did not have time to reset as the day progressed. It was a partly cloudy day add to that the ever changing position of the sun and I did have to do some compositing of subjects against a "saftey frame" of an empty background. I like the variance of getting it all in camera. The subject's height, slight difference in position all create a slight difference. Since many of these shots end up on the same web page consistency. If you like this look but can't find a way to get a room with a view, you could do a project like this all through compositing aka "green screen". I'd still recommend shooting in front of some sort of window though. To see the difference between a composited and "in camera" version look at the first two shots in the gallery of CEO Bill Higginbothom. The end result is one of my more favorite projects of 2019.

This is an interesting comparison between the standard gray background and the light blue. The lighter blue is less formal, it also stands out on a LinkedIn search from other types of backgrounds.

Legare, Attwood, and Wolfe were looking to update thier headshots to something more contemporary that wasn't a plain gray background. They are located in the city of Decatur. Easy walking distance to the old Decatur City Courthouse. On set with me that day were make-up and hair artists extraordinaires Faith Brooks and David Hamblen who also did onset grooming. It's always going to be a great day with David and Faith on set!
