Personal Branding Photography
A quick session in a CEO's office, on a cloudy day unfortunately, to produce some images for his social media.
Social Media - Personal Branding Photography
There are any number of reasons you might want a social media session. Entrepenuer, Influencer, Author, dating site etc... This is what photographers sometimes refer to as "Run and Gun". Midtown, no particular plans, partly cloudy day. about a 10 AM start time in early January. No retouching but these images are developed in Lightroom with some color grading. Very affordable session at $500 with a great return on the number of images. You need to be willing to be chased off of certain locations like parking deck rooftops, restuarant patios, sometimes it's hard to tell where a building's interest begins and a thouroughfare ends. All in day's work. No one's going to jail you're just told to move on. That's what makes the session work well anyway. Look for pockets of light, backgrounds with texture, dimension, and mood. Shoot a lot!
Atlanta Business Headshots for Lawyers
This is a large single client law firm who wanted customized business headshots. I shot on a plain gray background lit as flat as possible and then added the vignette and a slight bit of texture. This gave me consistent results.
Waist Up Shots
Technically not a headshot but certainly part of the headshot business. If you want a waistup shot you need to up your game as a model. What to do with your hands? That's always the question. Practice! Play around with it. Come in with some ideas. I'll add my experience and we'll nail something worth having for you. This is a best of 2019 waist up shots.
Custom Stock Photography - Matt Wetherington
It's hard to know what to call this type of corporate photography. That is when you want "stock" photography but using your own people, yourself, and your own workplace. "Website collateral", "business lifestyle", maybe but I think "custom stock" might be a useful term even though it sounds like an oxymoron. If you are considering a project like this I'd encourage you to secure a location, leave plenty of time, and think through the ideas. I always manage to capture some images that my client's find useful but it's amazing what having a plan along with being open to the moment can yield. For this particular project Matt secured a commons area in his building for a Saturday morning. I've done this a few times since for custom stock. It's a great time to shoot as no one else comes in to the space and you're not as distracted with work.
Legare, Attwood, and Wolfe were looking to update thier headshots to something more contemporary that wasn't a plain gray background. They are located in the city of Decatur. Easy walking distance to the old Decatur City Courthouse. On set with me that day were make-up and hair artists extraordinaires Faith Brooks and David Hamblen who also did onset grooming. It's always going to be a great day with David and Faith on set!
